Compared to last report: Trade activity and demand were moderate.
Retail hay demand were steady to good.
Dairy and Export hay demand were light to moderate.
According to the NASS field crops, across the state, ground preparations
and planting were temporarily halted due to wet soil conditions.
In the Sacramento Valley, wheat began to head.
In the San Joaquin Valley, cotton fieldwork continued as the weather allowed.
In the Central Valley, rain stalled the harvest of alfalfa.
In Tulare County, wheat, oats, and barley continued to grow, and some
fields were cut.
Winter grains were treated for pests, and herbicides and fungicides were
applied between storms.
Cotton fields were prepared for planting.
In San Luis Obispo County, lodging was observed in winter grain fields
due to excessive rain during the week.
